Meet Madison Morgan | Photographer & Memory Maker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madison, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I love this question! I have always loved photography and have been “taking photos” for many years but I didn’t turn it into a profitable business until September 2022!
I was in the healthcare industry and going to school to further that career, but it never felt quite right.
The burn out was REAL and to top it all off I got pregnant during a nationwide pandemic so I felt that the healthcare field was not to place for me. I took up a job at one of my favorite place Back Road Beauties Boutique, on their social media team to still have an income so my husband didn’t have to carry the whole load (he totally would have-he is a saint!). Once I had Ellie I couldn’t bring myself to put her in daycare so young, so Gracefully Golden Photography started to bloom into a business rather than a hobby! I had sessions here and there, but come holiday season 2022 something amazing happened-I was fully BOOKED (Overbooked if you ask my husband). Now, ever since I haven’t had a slow season and I couldn’t be more thankful for my supportive husband, amazing clients, and most importantly God!
So, now that I have rambled on, my thought process was mostly about wanting to stay home with my baby, but also creating something for myself and helping my husband provide the life we want!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
THIS BUSINESS IS A DREAM!!! I am most proud of how far I have come and all I have learned.
I am most excited about meeting all my clients and the potential of meeting all those I haven’t met yet!
I got where I am today through A LOT of prayer and hard work and it was NOT easy but it was very much so worth it!
Overcoming the challenges of this business is something that you definitely have to make the time to do. Being completely self-taught there was lots of trial and error, I am so thankful for everyone who stuck around while I learned!
The biggest lesson I have learned is that comparison is the BIGGEST THEIF of joy! This business is filled with so many amazing and talented photographers, but no one can bring what you bring to each session and client experience, so be authentically YOU!
I just want to world to know that my passion to deliver timeless memories of you and the ones you love is HEAVY and I hope I get the chance to always capture real, raw love!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
HMM, total honesty I am a HOME BODY! But, my best friend does live out of town and when she’s here we love to go to any and all of the local Mexican food restaurants, take the girls to the local parks, and run around to local boutiques shopping the cutest clothes!
Once I became a mom and a business owner running around my hometown of Alvin, TX became a beautiful luxury. It really is the small things
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am lucky to have the best support system in the world all the way around! My biggest shoutout will have to go to God because I would be naive to think that I could have ever had the will power or motivation to create this on my own. Yes, this is product of many late nights and lots of blood, sweat, and tears (literally), but it is also product of a lot of answered prayers!
But i cannot answer this question without mentioning my husband. He has single handedly supported everything I wanted from day one! He has definitely created a life where I was able to take the time away from a 9-5 to focus on making this dream a reality. It has created a life for us where I can 100% be their for our kids, plus be working my DREAM JOB!
