We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I am a real estate investor and I have experienced all phases of a project. My partner and I know the difficulties and risk involved in Real Estate investing. From property acquisition, selecting a contractor, material and finish selection and choosing the right real estate agent when placing the property in the market. Home Selection Consulting is a company created to help homeowners and also new and experienced real estate Investors. My company helps them make the most of their projects by helping them from beginning to the end. We strive in making their projects a profitable one following a clearly define process. A clearly defined process turns into a profitable and enjoyable project.

What should our readers know about your business?
Home selection Consultants provide personalized attention to the investor needs. We provide material selection along with discounts on materials from our vendor network. Getting where we are today was not easy since our involvement includes from beginning to end. One of the most challenging situations is when working with beginner investors. One of the biggest challenges is to educate the investor into realizing that the project is not their home, its an investment. My passion for this type of work makes it easier. I want the world to know that Home Selection Consultants are here to help the investor make a profit. From beginning to end, every step has to be carefully studied.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston is a cosmopolitan city filled with world-class dining, arts, hotels, shopping and nightlife. Our city offers many world class museums, shopping at the Galleria or head down to the Space Center. If one prefer, you can visit Galveston for a stroll on the beach. We recommend Hugo’s Mexican restaurant for a fine Mexican dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
People that inspired me include my husband, the real estate investor and StratiVentures, a nationwide group of investors dedicate to educate their members and who to turn distressed properties into elegant and functional properties. My husband construction company and our desire to deliver a great finished product is my strongest inspiration. There is no better inspiration than to deliver a great product and see peoples smile and gratitude during the last phase.
