We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Battles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mark, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel that risk are apart of everything we do some are smaller then others but they attached to every decision, I think my whole career is benefits of risk taking from the 1st cd I sold to the 1st show I performed I just didn’t let my doubts decide what to do. I’d rather take the steps to see what is possible then sitting on the sideline assuming everything is impossible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music is simple reflections of my thoughts on any situation, give me a topic and I’ll give you a story. I try not to be one of the artist that say I can’t or won’t do a certain type of song because in my mind as humans well typically go thru similar things only thing different is how we each handle it. So you get how I hear, see, and deal with things. I’m proud of what I do for that reason because its what I do, found something I’m good at and made it work form me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
well being from 3rd ward in my city my 1st suggestion for food is Cream Burger one of my favorite places to eat, along with the original Timmy Chans and honorable mention Blodgett Fish Market, but really Houston is a place you have to just get in the car and explore it’s so much to see and do depending on the time of day or day of the week. So my real suggestion would be let’s ride Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If they deserve a shoutout from me they know who they are, so I’ll just say much appreciation to my team and everyone that has been supporting me from the start.
