We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark “Muk” Odom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mark “Muk”, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simply to create a way for me to have financial freedom without working the traditional 9-5. My business was just an idea for a long time until I actually lost my job, and was sort of forced to bet on myself!

What should our readers know about your business?
My business started in November 2020 in the heart of COVID-19. I initially shared the idea with a few family members hoping to team up and start a family business. Well things didn’t go as planned and it seemed as though they weren’t really interested in the idea. December comes and boom I lose my job and I’m scrambling trying to figure out my next move. My bestfriend of 5 years was like invest in yourself and do your business idea, at first I’m skeptical but she really helped me get my first order going. Once she seen that I could actually sell she was pushing me to keep going and I just went into full hustle mode and I been grinding with my brand every since.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Lol I would have to make sure they ate good & got positive vibes. I would try to plan but I know I change up quick sometimes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to first give a shout-out to God himself because without him waking me up I wouldn’t be able to share the gifts and talents he’s given me with the world. I want to shout out my family and friends who support me and my vision. Lastly I want to shout out the silent partnerships I have from people who want to see this brand next level. #FreakySneakyLingerie
