We had the good fortune of connecting with Max Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Max, why did you pursue a creative career?
I always grew up feeling different but very creative, painting, writing, drawing. When I turned that creativity to music at the age 13 years old, I instantly felt a connection and a found a new way to express myself and dig deeper In my creativity. Music was a new way to connect the art to people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart is my drive and dedication starting at a young age. I wouldn’t say it has been easy. I’ve missed out on a lot of social events with kids my age because I always want to work on music or gig and get better to reach my goal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First we could check out a cool exhibit in the museum district, find some live music at Warehouse live and then Grub at Natachees on Main. After this we could find some thrift shops and record stores to browse some hidden gems. At end of day, Dinner would be At Antonio’s Flying Pizza on Voss Rd.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say so many people have supported me. My biggest musical inspiration would be Kurt Cobain from Nirvana. He had such a dedication to the music he made that I admire. Personally, my parents, my family and friends give me such encouragement that keeps me driven.
