We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Cabrera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Art is in my blood. I walk through life thinking how I could add color to different spaces , places and peoples lives. I don’t feel like myself unless I’m exercising my creativity muscle.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe in art for everyone. If there is one thing I feel strongly about is art and supplies should be available to everyone. No matter what your demographic may be . Growing up art seemed like for only those who could afford the supplies and life style. Those who could go to the best schools or get the right supplies. My efforts are aimed towards taking art to the people. Meeting kids, teens, adults and parents where they are and showing them the beautiful world of creativity.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite place in Houston is the Japanese Garden. It’s amazing to experience culture and nature right in the middle of the city. I appreciate the little pockets of wonder our city has to offer. As for food I love sharing local restaurants like my personal fav Tekila’s Mexican grill off Tidwell.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly my husband who never stops believing in me and pushing me. Secondly My friends and mentors. Ive had so many great strong woman along the way who have more confidence in me than I do sometimes.
