Meet Maxcie Taylor | Plus-Sized Pageant Queen, Speaker, 2x Published Author. Full-Time Community Liaison

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maxcie Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maxcie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Harriet Tubman

This quote inspires me every day because I have a BIG dream to help and serve others. As like Harriet, I am a community leader and I help families, business owners, and couples get more involved in our community, engaged in our kid’s future, and committed to excellence.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the current reigning Ms. Curve Texas. I am excited about this title because you don’t typically think of a pageant queen being a plus sized woman, but I am here for it.

I am also a speaker and 2x author, so I encourage women and especially teen girls to gain confidence and be comfortable in their own skin.

I am also a full-time community liaison and philanthropist. I help curate local events and bring more exposure to local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Currently, I have some amazing community partners like Hope’s Door New Beginning- a non-profit that provides DV victims with shelter, pro-bono legal services, and more. LENA is another great program that teaches parents how to Read, Play, and Talk with their child everyday.

I am very big on community engagement and in partnership with Keep Mesquite Beautiful, I adopted a park in my hometown city Mesquite, Texas. The ribbon cutting is on July 23rd @ KidsQuest Park in Mesquite at 9am.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since my friends are in business- I would definitely stop by Girl Boss Suites and see my girl Tiara and we all host and teach a training class. I love to network with business women!

Afterwards, we would have a photoshoot with my boy LA @Lantofromcali and then for fun I would take them to the spongebob themed restaurant for a Krabby Patty!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Wow, what a great question. Honestly, if it weren’t for God saving me from myself, I wouldn’t be here. So, I thank God for his grace and mercy.

My husband and my mom support me like no other. They both love me for my good in spite of my difficultness. (Im kind of a diva.)

My Dad is a big part of all of my business as he is the person, I call for advice and next steps. I have no sibling so besides that, I’d like to thank ME!

People judged me so harshly when I was younger, so I am very proud of me for not believing them and just embracing life flaws and all.
