Meet Merinda Watkins-martin

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Merinda Watkins-martin again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Merinda, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
My name is Merinda Watkins-Martin and along with my husband, Reginald Martin, we own Lemond Kitchen and Lemond Events. Lemond Kitchen is a full service catering company which also has a retail line of food. We have 4 gourmet curated spices and five frozen foods sold at Bering’s Hardware. This products are the best of Lemond.
Lemond Events is our fine events catering company that offers full service catering, bar services, rentals and event planning.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Lemond has expanded in the last two years. We manage a cafe on the campus of Rice University. The cafe is located inside the Moody Center for the Arts. The cafe is open Tuesday- Saturday.
We are also excited to announce we are currently building a new location. The new location will have a flagship market with all of your Lemond Kitchen favorites. There will be an Urban garden and a small event center.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

I am excited to be celebrating 25 years of marriage and of being in business with my husband. Which is not always easy. I am so proud of my two kids, Elizabeth at UT Law and my son Christopher at Strake Jesuit. I am very proud of what we have accomplished since we started over 25 years ago. Great food and amazing service with a smile. I love make people feel special and taken care of all the little details so they can enjoy their event.
