We had the good fortune of connecting with Mia Becerra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mia, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art has always been in my heart. Since I was young I have enjoyed drawing. It was the only thing that really made me happy. Nothing else seemed to fit but art just happened to be intriguing for me. And, with the years passing, I have really worked on making it better.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A lot of my Art is heavily inspired by my emotions so my art is different from others because no one else thinks or feels what I do. I’m proud of most of the things I create because they come from within me and I am improving more and more with each piece.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Bibo’s Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants. I love me some Pho! And, the environment is comfortable and pretty. You can’t go without dessert so I love to visit Paco Pops in Porter, Tx for some delicious homemade popsicles. Honestly my preference is to just sit outside with my phone or book all while admiring God’s art in the sky.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, God! Without him, literally nothing would exist. I thank him always for giving me the heart and talent that I have today. My Mom also plays a huge role in the heart I have along with providing all supplies needed for me to continue growing. My Dad & StepMom for always encouraging me to do what I love no matter what. And, really, I’m blessed to have the family and friends that I have who encourage me daily.
