We had the good fortune of connecting with michael chabala and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi michael, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was upset, lonely and determined to change a broken system within major league soccer to help guys when they finish playing. I was also over wearing a suit and tie to work at my first ever job outside of soccer and was tired of someone telling me what to do. I took a shot on myself to play professional soccer and I know what that looks like and was willing to go the distance again, so I started.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I created a business to connect people. our goal is to connect the world and we do a better job of bringing people together than anyone else. we do through unique soccer-inspired workouts or creative ways we play off the field. i’m most excited about our online platform. working harder than everyone else and never quitting. no. nothing in life worth having comes easy. trust yourself and follow your heart. we’re here to help you get connected and inspire you to #playagreatgame.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
cuchara, common bond, el tiempo, sphere.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
my family. I mean how do you thank someone for giving every bit of leftover money to let me travel to play on a team? how do you thank someone for driving you twice a week to practice for 2 + years that takes 2.5 hours one direction? how do you thank someone forgiving them for training every day and not spending time with them or not being home for holidays bc games were more important. the dedication my father and mother contributed to my success is partially the demise of their divorce and the lack of family dynamic we have. it’s hard to really comprehend the emotions my sister must have felt when there was so much time and energy being focused on me. thank you. in tears as I write this, thank you.
