We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Burr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
After a year of being full time influencer, it was apparent to me that fellow creators are highly dependent on brand deals as a means of income. Brands don’t always give the creator full control when it comes to promoting their products and they often give a very, very low percentage of the ad revenue to the creator. Therefor I created Social Wear. I wanted creators to have the freedom and flexibility to create their own merchandise or products for their followers. I really pride myself on ensuring that it is extremely profitable for the creator & they have complete control of their merchandise. At Social Wear, it’s ALL about the creator!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a full time social media influencer as well as the CEO of a merchandise creation and fulfillment company.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely bring the kids to play outside at a few breweries while the adults enjoyed a drink. Houston has some of the best breweries with the best atmospheres, Urban South being one of our favorites! If we got a babysitter for the day, we’d definitely be brewery hopping! I also like a more low key day on the outskirts of Houston, like Old Town Spring. Walking the streets of Old Town Spring truly never gets old. The food, the shopping, the people. It’s hands down one of my favorites!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t do what I do without the support of my husband, my family, & my friends. My husband Matt has always believed in me and supported anything I have ever decided to pour my heart into. My family and friends have spent countless hours packing orders & showing continuous support and pride for myself & the creator that Social Wear represents!
