We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I don’t really think much about risk. If there is something I want to do, I will pursue it despite the risks involved. I’m a very driven and dedicated person. I moved to San Francisco at 22 and only knew one person. I moved to Austin after visiting for 3 days one week after the visit. I did IVF at 49 and now have a beautiful 14 month old daughter. The risks were plenty and the rewards have all been worth it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
J.Fisher Interiors, is a premier luxury design firm based in Austin, Texas, transforms spaces across Texas and beyond. Our passion lies in crafting bespoke interiors that reflect our clients’ unique personalities, ensuring each design is a true expression of their individual style.
How I got here, a LOT of hard work and networking. I put in many years working under other designers and learning from them. It was not easy. I overcame the challenges by never quitting and always believing in myself. Even when I had to take most of the year off last year when I gave birth to my daughter who needed life saving heart surgery at 2 months old, I persevered and did not give up. I got back out there and made calls, met people, and put my name and my work in front of their faces. I’ve learned that it’s necessary to always stay positive. Life is all how you look at it. It’s all mental. If you put yourself where you want to be in your mind and really see it and feel grateful for being there, there is nothing else that can happen but winning.
I want the world to know, when you choose J.Fisher Interiors, you’re not just hiring a design firm – you’re partnering with a team dedicated to bringing your vision to life. We pour our passion and expertise into creating spaces that are uniquely tailored to you and your family, ensuring you fall in love with your home all over again and can’t wait to showcase it to your friends and family.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If it’s summer and 100 degrees, of course I would take them to Barton Springs. Then we’d go to Joanne’s Fine Foods for a drink and a salad. I would make sure to hit up the Continental Club one night and the pool at Soho House the following day with lunch by the pool. Hopefully there would be a cool show to see at Stubb’s or Moody Theatre on the other nights and we’d eat at Veracruz cafe one day, and Rebel Cheese another. We would also have drinks at The Austin Proper lobby bar as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes. All my success is because of the woman who raised me, my Mother, Judy Fisher. Sadly she passed away in August of 2021, but she was able to see all of the hard lessons I learned and she taught prior to her passing. I owe everything to her.
