We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Le and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
as I took on different jobs over the years, I quickly realized that I never wanted to work under anyone. my parents are business owners as well as a good portion of my family. starting my lash business was intimidating at first and not my initial plan but I loved the idea of making my own schedule. it’s a very rewarding feeling to be your own boss and accomplish your goal by boosting someone’s confidence every day I work.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
mynx club is the name of my lash extensions business where I offer a variety of different styles from a natural classic set to a dramatic mega volume. I do what I can to personalize the experience and cater to my clients’ needs the best way I can. there’s tons of other lash artists in houston so I make sure to give incentives to keep them coming back. it makes me happy that I’m able to make my clients feel pretty and confident in their own skin as soon as they open their eyes! sometimes, we have trouble seeing it ourselves so i’m glad I can contribute to that
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
houston is one of the best cities for food so I would make sure they ate to their heart’s content. but we also have a lot of fun things to do!
my favorite places are uchi/uchiko, kata robata, bludorn, eunice, tiger den, and wanna bao
fave bars: behind closed doors, diversion, lei low, sixes & sevens, 77 degrees, and palapas
things to do: explore bravery chef hall or railway heights, check out speakies (like sugar room or bad news bar ), karaoke in chinatown, go karting at hkc or track 21, mini golf at puttshack or popstroke, take a pottery class at smashed & clay, $10 unlimited games at cidercade, or go to the museum on thursdays for free admission.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
while I appreciate all of my friends and family that have given me their support over the years, my best friend, annalea garza, deserves this special shoutout. if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have started my lash business. she is a hairstylist with her own successful business. anna has always pushed me to realize my potential and inspires me every day.
