We had the good fortune of connecting with Miriam Santamaria Considine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miriam, what do you want your legacy to be?
If there is one thing I would want people to remember about me it would be that I left a positive impact or memory with them. Professionally, I would like my clients to know that I cared for their memories and special moments as much as I care about my own. In my personal life, I would want my loved ones to know that I tried to be the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend that I could. Leaving a little bit of love and positivity wherever I went.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a wedding and portrait photographer serving the Houston area and wherever the occasion takes me. I pride myself on not only my photography work but also in creating friendships with my clients. I want them to look at their photographs years from now and smile when they reflect on such important and special moments. My love for photography has been in me since I was young but it definitely grew when I was in high school and became an editor for our school yearbook. Thanks to our mentor, Mrs. Colston, I picked up a DSLR and haven’t looked back since! It did take years along with trials and errors for my work to get where it is today, but I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world. Every creative and business risk I took only helped me grow into a better creative and business owner that loves her job and looks forward to serving repeat and of course, new clients.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Oh, Houston, what can I say about you? It’s been my home for a very, very long time. I have lived in several areas of the city and I can navigate around it with my eyes closed. Some of my favorite things to do around the city are: go for walk/run at one of the many parks, visit museums, and of course, try new restaurants every chance I get. I would definitely recommend some of my favorite spots depending on what the person has in mind. When it comes to food: BBQ, Mexican cuisine, seafood, and/or sushi, breweries, wine bars, coffee shops… I have a favorite spot for each! As far as outdoor activities, I also have a list of parks I visit every chance I get. There really is something for everyone!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story and success would not be complete without including my mother. A widow that started a new life in a new country and raised two children on her own. She knew no barrier to achieve what she set her mind to. Instilling in my brother and me the drive to accomplish whatever we set our minds to. More recently, my husband also has shaped my story and success. He inspires me every day to be a better person, not only professionally but also in our everyday lives. I love both of them endlessly.
