We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly Maung and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Molly, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’m not afraid of taking risks because life without risks is boring to me. Many people are in their heads most of the time and will never accomplish their goals and dreams. I would not be where I am today without taking risks in my career or life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
During the pandemic, my daughter challenged me as a joke to see which one of us could gain the most followers first on TikTok. At first, I was just posting videos out of boredom, but a couple of months down the line one of my Jeep videos just blew up. After that, more and more of my videos started to go viral.

In the beginning, it was easy to just post videos and not have any expectations, but as my following grew, so did the pressure to post. I was posting anywhere from 6 to 8 videos a day, and that took most of my time because of the filming and editing. It was very time-consuming and so much effort went into it, but I don’t regret anything because now I’m successful because of it.

If there’s anything to take away from my story, it’s that hard work really does pay off.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Truthfully, I am a homebody. My family and I prefer to hang out at home most of the time, so going out is not a daily occurrence for us. When family or friends come to visit we relax in the backyard or the kitchen drinking coffee. But, when we do venture out of the house, there are three must-go places: H-E-B, Whataburger, and Buc-ee’s.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My whole family. They have helped me throughout my whole social media career and have given me a tremendous amount of support. Without them, my career wouldn’t be as successful as it is today.
