We had the good fortune of connecting with Moms Club Of Baytown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MOMS Club of Baytown, how does your business help the community?
We are MOMS Club of Baytown. Our organization provides daytime support with socialization and a safe space for all stay-at-home mothers! We are a chapter from the International MOMS Club in California and we follow bylaws and guidelines. Our club is an official registered 501C non-profit organization that has been established in Baytown, Tx since 2019. Our organization is always welcoming new members to join and offer support for mothers who choose to stay home and raise children. We believe in listening and supporting each member through the struggles and joy that motherhood may bring. Our group gathers, and plans events for all of our members to come out of the house and mingle with other members. We coordinate service projects for our local community every year. Our most recent service projects consisted of donating stoys to our local Blue Santa program at our Police Station for Christmas and we also collected coats and sweaters with a local church that offer help to families in need. We believe in giving back to our local community as much as possible!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our group offers countless friendships and connections with local mothers from the Baytown, Highlands, and Mont Belvieu area. We have the oppurtunity to offer a safe and comfortable place for stay-at-home moms to bring their children and watch them create friedships themselves. It is absolutely beautiful to see your children grow together from babies, to school-aged kiddos. Just as we have a foundation of support with our mom members, our kids are learning from our example that friendships are important and can become so special with time.
Is it always smooth sailing with a group of about 50 members? Not always. Can be a little difficult having to balance a conversation with so many women in a group and hear everyone’s thoughts? Absolutely. Every mother will have her own opinion and we must respect it. Our group isn’t a place for drama, our main priority is support! We know that our members are always there for questions, advice and suggestions we may need. Another thing to add about our group is that since we can build trust within so easily, we don’t mind keeping an eye on your little one if we’re at the same place. You may need to rush back to the car for sippy cup and that’s totally fine to leave them with us. Don’t you worry. Motherhood is already challenging as it is, and if our moms can be there to help you make your day a little easier, we are here. It’s can honestly mean so much to that mom who may really need to just step out and breathe for a few minutes without having their little cutie attached to the hip. Many mothers feel lonely and depressed through the first few years of learning how to become a mom so we offer events for them to come out and relate with other moms. We plan an entire month in advance so that you can plan your day mingling with other moms who understand what motherhood is.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was a mom and was visting with her children, my kids and I would invite them out to some awesome spots in the local area! There are so many playgounds and parks but a few of our faves are Jenkins park, Mont Belvieu Park and Edna Mae Park. These parks offer amazing playgrounds for children of all ages and can help them burn some energy! We would also absolutely have to visit the Sterling Library! This local gem offers so many activities and storytime for children of all ages. The staff are so friendly and provide a warm and friendly space for locals! One kid-fiendly eatery is Iguana Joes. They offer Tex-Mex meals and a playground for kiddos to play while we eat. The chips and salsa are a must-have paired with a tangy margarita! The city of Baytown also offers a fun and educational nature place called Eddie V Grey Wetlands Center. This location is free to the public and is home to many animals for people to visit and check out! From tiny fish, to baby gators. All can be looked at up close while learning about them. Baytown truly has so much to offer for the local community.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would love to shout-out our Baytown founding President and our current President! Our former founding president is Annemarie. She came from California and felt a spark to register and start this chapter in 2019 to bloom a support system for local mothers who would also like to meet up and have playdates. She is still a member and helps out when she can behind the scenes! Annemarie is such an inspiration to us and we feel so grateful to have had her guidance and support to start our chapter and create so many friendships with so many moms, thanks to her iniitiative!
Our current president Lauren, is the prime example of effort, support and encouragement for our club. She was voted upon in 2024 to join the board and has been such an amazing asset for the group! She has poured her heart into this organization since she has stepped into the leadership role and truly has the best intentions for MOMS Club. She expresses kindness and empathy with everyone she meets and is always open to new ideas and thoughts for the better of the club. Her guidance and support for the group provides such a positive path for all members who she meets. We are so thankful for Annemarie and Lauren for their amazing roles they’ve played for our organization.
