Meet Najiyyah Brooks: Serial Entrepreneur, Minister & Television Host

Committing my life and the work of my hands to God. I believe that true success is not measured by how much is accomplished or how many material things are obtained along life’s journey but rather how well we run the race. Is God pleased? Have I been true to my purpose? Have others been inspired to do good? Has my life lead others to desire a deeper commitment to God? Being able to answer yes to these questions affirms that am being true my life’s blueprint – my calling. That’s how I measure success.

My business started out as a women’s ministry with five women in my living room meeting for coffee and Bible Study. It evolved right before my eyes into a movement. The talent of the women coupled with their love for God and seeing other women live their best lives was awe inspiring. We began to retreat together to take time to be restored and refreshed. In fact, we just celebrated our 15th Annual DIVA Zone Retreat in Dec 2020 – although virtual. We founded and contributed to a free newsletter which turned into celebrated DIVA Zone Magazine. The ministry was comprised of women with so many interests, skills and talents that we needed a space to grow as entrepreneurs – women of faith and business so the Promote Her Network, A National Organization for Women in Business, was formed and is thriving! Brooks Media Group is now a full fledge media conglomerate. We publish four magazines, own a few OTT (Over the Top) streaming television stations on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, iOS, Android, WebTV etc, an internet radio station and several thriving social media platforms. All of this started as a ministry in my living room with five women. I know the authenticity of how we started and the commitment to stay true to our values and God’s blueprint is THE REASON any success exists to be acknowledged and celebrated. I look for holes – gaps – in my community of faith and prayerfully get to work creating solutions to help us all realize our fullest potential. We are one brand with over 15 subsidiaries now. With God all things are possible.

I would take them to eat savory crepes, spend a morning at the spa, visit my favorite winery, hang out at Brooks Media Group Headquarters in North Houston, film some content, watch movies, hang out at my lovely personal retreat spot – my home, cook, bake, sit around the fire pit, and then finish the weekend with worship at church.

I’ve been so blessed to have some solid and consistent people in my life who have contributed greatly to what is still being established. My mother, Monica Brooks has dedicated her life to the call on my life. Without her support and love I’m not sure I would have had the confidence to dream as big as I have. My sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who are like family who make life colorful and full of everything real and true. My DIVA Zone Family – my dearest friends and extended family – comprised of faithful, loving and unselfish women who embarked upon this journey of building a ministry turned media conglomerate over 15 years ago have been the wind beneath my wings. There are too many to name but they know who they are. My friends, the true ones who never asked for free stuff but saw the value of what I was doing and paid for services and products without question. Without their support I would not be in business. My Promote Her Sisterhood – our beautiful national army of talented, supportive, hardworking and faithful Women entrepreneurs who inspire me to keep going and striving for excellence. And without question ALL HONOR, ALL PRAISE and ALL GLORY goes to GOD, Without GOD and the people He has assembled none of this would be possible.
