We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikki, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business to encourage others and give them hope. Being a singer, songwriter and actress has allowed me to reach many people through my God given talents. Once I decided to move forward with my music recording, my business platform begin to grow. The music lead to my inspirational line of candles and apparel company.
What should our readers know about your business?
My husband and I started our own record label; Reviving Dreams Enterprises LLC, to create inspirational music for all people. I released my debut C.D. entitled “Journey To Restoration”; which has two singles already hitting the Billboard charts. My new single “Restore Remix” is a prayer for the world during these difficult times. The music video for “Restore Remix” is a heartfelt visual that includes current issues impacting the world today. I also created a subsidiary company; Nikki Berry Music, to focus more on my inspiring products. I designed t-shirts that would remind you and others to focus on God, not your problems. My exquisite candle line; The Restoration Line of Candles, is a line of soy-blend hand poured candles that take you on a journey of the senses. The five star reviews of the candle line from across the U.S.; reveal how much people love these candles for relaxing, meditating, and prayer. Starting businesses from the ground up wasn’t easy, but it has definitely been worth it. We invested a lot of our own money and put in many tireless hours of work to build professional brands. The passion to pursue my dreams came easy; but I had to study the music industry, enhance my business skills, and build a strong marketing team. There were many challenges along the way; but I always took a step back to remember why this was my calling, and that gave me a boost to continue on. Always remember your why during difficult times and it will carry you through! I have learned to set boundaries between business and my personal life; which has afforded me a life of great joy. I get to follow my dreams, inspire others, work side by side with the love of my life and still enjoy my children/family time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would first take them to Sugar Land Town Center for dining and shopping. I live in the Sugar Land area; so I”m a bit partial to the outdoor scenery in the courtyard. My favorite restaurant is Jupiter Pizza & Waffles Co.; but I would also take them to The Rouxpour Restaurant & Bar. We would later venture out into the city of Houston, dining at The Breakfast Klub, The Turkey Leg Hut and Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen. For fun we would hang out at Top Golf, Main Event or the Downtown Aquarium.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shout out my amazing husband and business manager Mr. Derick Berry; my super producer Eric Carrington; my entire team of marketing, music distribution/servicing and public relations. Lastly, my awesome family who support me in prayer, encouragement and hard work wherever needed.
