We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Granados and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process when starting my business originally was how can I provide income and be a stay at home mom. I always had a passion for photography starting around 12 years old and into high school so it was a no brainer, this career was for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My art is something I proudly like to keep genuine. The interactions and emotions you see in my photos are always genuine. I pride myself in getting my clients comfortable in front of my camera so that years down the road they have little memories attached to their photos.

I am constantly trying to learn new things to give my clients a better experience with me! From prompts, to incentives, as well as the booking process. I like to make it effortless for my clients from the get go.

It was a challenge at first for myself to get out of the box and help my clients get comfortable. It’s takes practice getting out there and getting to know strangers in a matter of 1 hour that you have to photograph them. With every session, it became easier and easier. Soon I looked forward to meeting new faces getting to know people and bringing out those candid moments between families, and couples!

This journey has taught me many things. The most important is just to care. When you genuinely care about your clients and listen, you capture even more beauty than just the surface!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
An Astros Game is definitely a must, & enjoy the W with some great BBQ From JacksonSt walking distance from the stadium!

Maybe do a cute brunch at cucharas & get a feel for the Mexican culture with their delicious Chilaquiles Verdes & their traditional Cafe de Olla.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This could not be possible without the support of my family and friends! My husband has always been my number 1 supporter and encourages me to step out of my comfort zone often. Their continuous support has always motivated me to set higher goals for myself and for my business. Lastly the community of photographers I have been around and became friends with are the most amazing people I’ve met in this business. There are some things only my colleagues will understand and I’m really proud to have strong supportive women in my circle.
