We had the good fortune of connecting with Onyx Francois and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Onyx, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be that I was a trailblazer in fashion. I stayed true to myself and still found a way to make my mark creatively in the fashion realm.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a corporate professional by day in Human Resources/Talent Acquisition and a model/visual creative artist. I asked myself at the end of 2022, “What is it that I really want to do?” When I sat with that question, I realized I’ve always had a passion for fashion and modeling. It has been a very challenging journey but also very rewarding. I have developed some awesome relationships with photographers and videographers, here in Charlotte, NC. Within 8 months of me deciding to take this path, I walked in New York Fashion Week in September of 2023. It was such an amazing experience and also a very emotional experience for me. That experience showed me that I am capable of anything with focus and hard work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to go to various places in Charlotte, NC. I’m all about new experiences so bowling at Bowlero, going to a nice dinner at Ruth’s Chris in Uptown Charlotte. I tried indoor skydiving and that was fun as well. I love a good frozen cocktail so anywhere we can get one of those, sign me up. ☺️
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this to anyone who has been a part of my life. If we were ever close, they have contributed and helped to shape, the person that I am today.
