We had the good fortune of connecting with Parveen and Saara Charania and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Parveen and Saara, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe taking risks is necessary for growth and improvement. Even if it doesn’t go the way you had planned, you may be opened up to new possibilities and opportunities, you learn from the mistakes, and gain experience. You will be able to say that you tried because even if you didn’t get the outcome you were hoping for, you put in all your effort and that can be just as satisfying as succeeding. You never truly know the outcome of a risk until you take it and you never know what might come out of it. Creating a strategic business plan helped us minimize negative outcomes. We have faced both success and failure from the chances we have taken with our business, and we continue to grow from them.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a family owned business and our passion of creating handmade products comes from a personal experience of when we first created them as a solution to our own skin concerns. We loved making and using our own products as well as gifting them to family and friends to enjoy. Seeing that our pure and toxic-free products helped our family and friends too, we wanted to share our products with more people and that’s when we started working towards creating a business plan. We are proud of our effectual products and the quality we provide. We want everyone to know that it’s important to us to continue handcrafting our bath and body care products using high quality, skin loving ingredients. We make our products in small batches without toxic and harmful ingredients by using purer alternatives. As far as challenges, we have definitely encountered them along the way like trial and error with formulating products, finding suppliers, marketing our business, etc. However, this is all a part of the process so it’s okay. The challenges we encountered and mistakes we made ultimately benefited us with improvement. Every mistake we made was a learning experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When the weather is beautiful outside it’s the perfect day to take a stroll around Sugar Land Town Square. There are wonderful shops and so many options for dining. All of the restaurants there are great! The artisan markets in the area are fun to check out because you’ll find unique, handcrafted products made by local vendors. There’s also The Galleria area which is popular for shopping and there is something for everyone. It’s a great place to visit when you’re in Houston.
