We had the good fortune of connecting with Randall Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Randall, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was simple! Go hard and be positive!!!! I claimed success early on before I even made my first sale. I knew it was going to take a lot of work due to my market being so competitive so I maintained a positive attitude and pushed hard by promoting heavily through social media and local club scenes!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
One thing that sets me apart from others is that I’m easily accessible and almost always available if you have questions about products and pricing! What I’m most proud of is I’d have to say is my line of watches. Even though the foundation of my company came from custom gold and diamond grillz the watches took me to an entire different level! I got where I am professionally by staying consistent and having great customer service. The greatest lesson I learned is to not take everything personal in business and only focus on your brand and not the competition. You’ll lose sight of your goals focusing on everyone else’s accomplishments!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man I love this city so of course we’d go everywhere! But for sure a few places we’d hit would be Carrington’s on Friday with my guy Ronnie Janice and DJ Sam I Am on the turntables. Saturday night at Vino Lounge ( a black owned wine lounge) located in the heart of the city on 2416 Pierce St. with my dude Justin aka Dubb! My mall of choice for shopping is The Woodlands Mall even though it’s a bit far out that’s my favorite spot to shop and the scenery out there is one of a kind! Bar 5015 is a dope spot we’d hit and of course Green Mill Social Club with the homie Justin Tennard. Eating wise my top choice would be The Breakfast Klub with my guy Marcus Davis. Great food, great atmosphere and great people!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Far too many to name! First my kids because their excitement towards Gator’z Gold & Grillz is one of the most motivating feelings in the world. My sister Ryneisha because she has always been a big help with promotion and reaching crowds that I can’t. My Hiram Clarke/Almeda Plaza family as well as my Hillwood family for continuously showing me love and support naturally without asking for anything in return. All of these people just wanted to see me win so their encouraging words and support have always kept me going!
