We had the good fortune of connecting with Randi Cazares and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Randi, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk is less daunting when. you know you can bet on yourself. One of my favorite quotes of all time is, “You just have to crave the end result so intensely that the work becomes irrelevant.” Of course risk is always scary initially but if you’re willing to do whatever it takes to succeed, risk won’t hold you back.

When I really sit down and think about it, the riskiest moves I’ve made in my career have been the greatest rewards. From deciding to work for myself. back in 2012 to moving my business an hour away from where I originally built it (to be closer to home). Each of those decisions actually terrified me but by making choices and seeing them through, I’ve truly built a life that I love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be involved in the beauty industry. I’m proud of my younger self who chose to pursue cosmetology even after being discouraged by some people in my life at the time. At this point, I’ve been in the industry for half of my life and I’ve never looked back.

It wasn’t easy getting started, but as I quoted previously, the hard work is irrelevant if you’re determined to succeed. I’m so in love with my job that it just simply never feels like work. The industry is constantly evolving and I’ve never gotten tired of seeing what it has in store in the future. I’ve learned throughout the years that if you’re truly passionate about something and you use that passion to improve other’s lives, you will never go wrong.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my opinion, local businesses are always the way to go. First we’d spin at RIDE, brunch at Fieldings, and then definitely hit up Levure Bakery for coffee before heading to the Woodland Farmer’s Market. I love living in The Woodlands and am so grateful for everything it has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my husband. He believes in me so relentlessly that he is constantly pushing me out of my comfort zone.

Secondly, I’ve been very blessed to belong to several impactful organizations during pivotal moments in my life. In early adulthood, being a Houston Texans Cheerleader helped me to cultivate confidence. And now as a RIDE Instructor, I’m continuously pushing others (and myself) to level up. Each of these “jobs” have helped shape the woman I am today.
