We had the good fortune of connecting with Raquel Oliver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raquel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have just always been the person to do what I wanted. I would have a thought in my mind and the next thing would be me doing whatever it was in my mind to do. I never let fear hold me back, I just kinda did what made me happy in that moment.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m in the beauty industry and it has always made me feel good to make women feel beautiful, our hair is our crown and it has always been an honor to give women that extra confidence boost. I’m so excited about my new product line I’m coming out with this year specifically design for hair extensions & also growing into a new location. It has not been easy but what have kept me going was my kids and making sure I always keep positive people around me that push me no matter what, I’ve learned to not give up and take every loss as a lesson to grow and become better.

I started out being a teen mom and just a small town girl with dreams, I never let statistics get in my way of becoming bigger than I’d ever dream Remember the name Raquel Denise because soon it will be in stores around the world

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love the city of Houston there is so much to offer first we would hit up some of my favorite places to eat Southern Soul Kitchen, Taste, Lotus, & Turkey Leg Hut. Eat crawfish from The Pub or BB’s My favorite places to drink Prospect Park, Bar 5015 & Kamp and of course we would end it with “Sunday Funday” brunch at my favorite spots Phil & Dereks or Address

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Patrick Oliver he’s my rock and the person that will not let me give up! & I joined a class called Kingdom Entrepreneur University that’s taught by Tiphani Montgomery, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her leadership
