We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Having worked for a franchise for 6 years I knew from the inside out that the first objective was dollar signs and second came the client. As an Esthetician that was simply unacceptable. Yes I need to make a living, but the line of work I am in demands I put the clients health, safety and needs first and foremost and that is why I stepped out and started my business Savvy Waxing.
What should our readers know about your business?
I take pride in gaining the trust of each of my clients. I love to build woman up and encourage them in their daily lives. In the business of full body waxing I know my clients are in a vulnerable position and it’s my job to make them feel as comfortable as I can. Once they do feel comfortable with my personality and professional ability I can work much faster and efficiently. I invest a lot of time in continued education, finding the best products, and becoming invested in my clients lives.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have had plenty of family and friends come to visit me from out of town and I have a few must haves. To eat I love El Chaparro Mexican Bar & Grill for Margaritas and stuffed avocados. I always drive through a Buzzles Shaved Ice to get through a hot Houston day. My favorite flavor is Iced tea. It’s so cool to have a picnic at the Waterwall Park in Uptown or catch an Astro’s game at Minutemaid. And here on the Northside it’s a must to try and catch a concert at the Cynthia Mitchel Pavilion.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Being a daughter, wife, and Mom to 3 kids I always have the caretaker role going on so I was a little apprehensive if I could take on a business of course. I have to thank my parents, husband and children for all supporting me and my dream. They have all stepped up to the plate to allow me to focus solely on my clients when at work and nothing else. I am beyond grateful to each of them. I have had the honor of becoming friends with veteran and business owner Melissa Palacios. She owns Aesthetic Glam. She inspires me daily with her work ethic and her encouragement to fellow woman as well!
