We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Quarantello and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I believe you are born an entrepreneur with the mindset it takes to start your own business. Over the last decade….I have started (or attempted to start) 13 different companies. Only 3 of them became successful..and they were the last 3 I tried.

There has always been a drive inside me to start and run my own business and the thought process behind it is the freedom from the 9-5 clock in, clock out grind while having the opportunity to build something in this one life that is your own and no one can take it away from you.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Strongman Garage Doors was founded out of the necessity of a local, trustworthy and above all AFFORDABLE garage door repair company. Garage door repair companies are known for over charging customers for parts and service they do not need.

The main reason for this is advertising and employee costs dictate how much certain repairs need to be to turn a profit. Combine this with technicians that are commission based…they are paid more…the more they charge the customer.

I am able to complete the same repairs as the “big guys” do at more than 50% less price because my business is 100% referral and recommendation based so I pay $0 for advertising. Combine this with the fact I run the company but also do the repairs myself, I do not have to inflate prices to pay other techs their wages.

I also do not have a bunch of employees driving around brand new 2025 vehicle wrapped trucks so I am able to charge less…pass on those savings to the consumer by not charging inflated pricing while still being a profitable company.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Best place I would take a friend visiting would definitely be a weekend trip at the Post Oak hotel with a steak dinner at Mastros on the property.

Besides the high chance of meeting a celebrity staying at the same hotel…the amenities, rooms, food and above all environment is top notch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I ultimately started my own business to be able to choose my own working hours. However what you don’t learn until you start it is you work every single waking hour. This takes a huge mental, physical, and emotional toll on you when you are on the entrepreneur roller coaster.

There are ups and there are downs and having a loving and supporting partner in your life can ease some of that stress and tension you will encounter on a day by day basis. My wife deserves more than 50% credit as to why I and my business is successful.

She constantly told me to keep trying when something wasn’t working….not to give up when it would have been so easy…and how ultimately the late nights and early mornings would pay off.
