We had the good fortune of connecting with Rodney Glynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rodney, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important part of my success is grounded in customer service. Clients trust that I will deliver great photos but professionalism along with a passion for providing a great experience and uncompromising customer service are essential for building relationships.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I consider myself a lifestyle photographer. I enjoy photography full stop. Studio photography, environmental portraits, product photography, macro photography, landscape, cityscape, you need a photo call me.
What makes me smile is capturing human emotion in real-time, which has more soul in my opinion. There is something about unfiltered human engagement and emotion that speaks to me. Getting the honor to capture those memorable moments for family and friends is priceless.

I started with videography and when technology introduced video capabilities to DSLR cameras I transitioned from the big shoulder mount cameras to the DSLR for video work. Realizing my new video camera is also a photo camera, I ventured into the photography space and now photography is my primary offering to clients.

There have been challenges along the way but those challenges were necessary in my growth to help me improve as a photographer. Problem solving is a universal skill that, once understood will help in all aspects of your life, so I embrace the challenges, learn from them, and use what I’ve learned not just in photography but in life.

My goal as a photographer is to preserve those fleeting moments that will be just a memory a second later.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t get out too often but when I do I enjoy Top Golf. That’s the perfect balance of activity, food, and drinks and if I want the same experience if the weather is bad Loft 18 is the go-to. If I just want to chill and listen to live music and have a cigar, 4 Gents cigar bar without a doubt is the place to be. For food in Houston, there are a couple of places that I support, Trill Burgers and Gordos Nino.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First give all glory to the Creator, there is no me without Him and His blessings and mercy.

Shoutout to my kiddos. My daughter Jasmyn and my son Torian, my biggest supporters, love them to infinity.

To the 3 B’s, my Great Grandmother Beatrice, my Grandmother Bobbie, & my Mother Brenda. These beautiful women taught me the importance of family and support.

Shoutout to my sisters and brothers: LaFabian, Korie, Stephen, Jay, Chris & Yana

All of my good friends and extended family who’ve supported me over the years

Special shout out to Ronnetta Spencer & DJ Walker for allowing me to experiment with new ideas to sharpen my craft.

Last but not least, The Well Known Stranger, The Grind Father, Showteezy bka Showtyme, Mr. Purple Stuff. The man who taught me the meaning of, get up, get out, and go get it, salute!
