We had the good fortune of connecting with S. Prejean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi S., did college have a meaningful and positive impact for you?
Attending college has been an ultimate life changing experience. College was a place where I not only attained life long friends, but I also utilized it as a ground for networking. I also had the opportunity to immerse myself in other educational resources outside of my major on campus to assist me with career advancement related skills. Although I have my oppositions on higher learning cost, I do believe the ultimate experience is one that you cannot obtain any place else! Overall, it has made a positive impact on my life and career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am Healthcare Specialist by day & Artist by night. I’ve been with my company for over five years and really enjoy the idea of helping people live healthier lives. By night, I am writing short stories, designing costumes and sketching design boards. As an artist, entrepreneurship can come with a plethora of challenges. However, sometimes you have to make a way when there is no way. I would like the world to know, “your life is literally what you make it”! I’m currently enjoying the balance of the corporate world/ entrepreneurship and soaking up every minute!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
There’s a few places we would go; I’ll categorize them down by days! Monday: Hermann Park, Onion Creek Cafe Tuesday: Creative Costume Shopping ( Value Village, Harwin Street, Hobby Lobby) Wednesday: The Museum of Fine Arts Thursday: Check out a play ( Alley Theater/ A.D. Players) Friday: Rooftop Cinema Club Saturday: Painting with a Twist, Dinner at Avenida Brazil Sunday: Brunch at Taste Bar & Kitchen

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to all the children in the world. You are today’s tomorrow and will soon be in control of how our world will operate! I hope that you continue to dream big and educate yourselves with all the educational resources you have available.
