We had the good fortune of connecting with Brad Lasker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brad, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
From the beginning I grew up around my father’s catering business here in Conroe. Food has always been a huge part of my life so It was easy making my own presence in the kitchen. Meal prep has always been a part of my personal routine for years. It is something that friends and family members were watching me do. My ideal for Iron Table wasn’t something I woke up one morning and decided to do. It actually blossomed from the pandemic. I had several people coming to me when the world was shut down asking if I could prepare food for them. So it is a business that organically grew during a difficult time for everybody.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our kitchen specializes in meal preparation. The main reason we are different from all other meal prep kitchens is that we cook all entrees, sauces and sides from scratch. We try to locally source our produce to keep our meals fresh and keep business within the community. There have been many challenges cooking for the amount of clients we serve. We grew quickly and still are. We are learning to take it week by week and learn from each one. Our brands purpose is to show people healthy food is great food and there really isn’t a reason to be on a horrible diet. We are just trying to show others what healthy food should look and taste like. We are definitely blessed and continue to grow.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When your coming to Conroe it is a fast growing small town. We love to take the kids to Black Walnut here at the Conroe airport for breakfast. You can sit in a nice dining area where you are able to view the planes. It is a very cool spot to check out. One thing about our city is that we have great parks where you and the family can enjoy some outside time. Then you definitely gotta check out the square in downtown. There is a lot of cool shopping and great bars to grab a drink and hang out. You will ALWAYS bump into someone you know.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shout out to my guy J-sleep “Justin” he’s been there since day one motivating me to do more and be better the the last week. Showing me how to over all create a long lasting brand . I want to thank my boy Walter Cordova he was the only client I had my first week and was that one person who set the tone. Definitely want to shout out to my wife’s family the “Mendiola’s” they truly believe in the process and have supported me this entire time. They have been the support I need. Remember the sky is never the limit, go beyond!
