We had the good fortune of connecting with Sade Ashworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sade, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk-taking shows a team that the entrepreneur is a true business visionary and leader who believes in the potential reward on the other side. Taking risks is the way to create opportunity and progress. Once the business is running, an entrepreneur continues to make calculated risks to grow a business.Failed risks aren’t always negative. Sometimes, they provide the most valuable business lessons an entrepreneur can learn. Failure helps shape future business strategies and can eventually lead to business growth.
February 1 of 2021 is when I relaunched my business, in the middle of a pandemic. That was risky itself due to Studios being closed , and the state of Texas had shut everything down, and nobody was able to get lashed. Something was telling me Sade’ just relaunch your business and worry about the rest later. Well, I did just that and that was the best thing for me at that time. I was able to build my clientele , and brand.
It has not always been easy running a business but I am continually pushed forward when I see how far I have come.
Take that risk!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m from the small town of Beaumont Texas. I wanted to do something that a lot of people wasn’t doing in the city. Women was traveling to Houston to get micro blading and lash services. I started in cosmetology school, so my passion for beautifying women started there. Making sure I had the best quality of products was my biggest challenge. It is very important that my clients are satisfied. A lot of people would ask if what I do is easy, I would say NO! It’s takes a lot of sacrifice, late nights, early mornings, going into my savings account and praying that those funds return. I overcame all challenges by trusting in God and following my heart. I want the world to know that Finishing Touches by Sade will be world wide and not city wide.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my husband Gill, my son Carmelo, my mother Rosa Lee , step -dad Darriell Les, brothers Brandon & Dionte and family. It’s been many of days , and nights I have needed them and each time they have showed up. It was never a NO! They see what I am working towards, and they help me when needed. I love my family! To my late grandparents who I miss dearly, my success is for you! To Lasan and Zuri, I would like to personally say Thank you, y’all have seen something in me I didn’t see in myself. Thank you to my cousin Jonay Young OMG, I can’t thank her enough she’s always there no matter what.
To my clients I don’t give y’all enough credit, but it’s because of y’all I’m still in business and still going. I love you all, Thank you!
