We had the good fortune of connecting with Saedi McLaughlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saedi, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
One principle that has really altered my perception and made an impact on the execution of my goals is the principle of being present. There is nothing more rewarding than to be truly in the moment only focusing on what is currently on your plate and just simply enjoying the process. We often get so caught up in what coming up next or are worried about past experiences that we fail to enjoy the current moment which is always a gift to us. This principle also reminds me that everything is happening in divine time and these things are happening for me not to me. So when I step in and be present the only thing left for me to focus on is just experieiencing happiness in that current moment. As an Intuitive creator it is important for me to maintain a certain state of being so that I can receive the information needed for my next project
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The art I create is medicine for my clients be it a bracelet, waist beads, herbal blend, spiritual bath, or a painting each item I create is custom for the client no two items are the same. What I love most about what I do is the spontaneity of the creation process I never know what I am making until it’s done I just follow my spirit in the process of creation. I am excited to Launch my official website so that more people can experience the energy of what I offer.
I have overcome many challenges but the biggest one I’ve had to overcome is myself. For so long I have hidden my talents or only shared them with a select few. What made me realize I had to start sharing my creations was when I got my first testimonial. That first testimonial became my fuel to keep going not because I made a profit but more so because I was able to truly help someone on their journey. Getting out of my own way has allowed me to impact so many people in my community by assisting them with their spiritual journeys and helping them to align with their higher selves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Eat- Lindianas Vegan Food truck near TSU the food is always amazing and they are black owned and operated
Hang Out Spot- Tribeca Htx Puff Puff Poetry Nights
Visiting the Botanical Garden is a must as well as the Butterfly exhibit in the Museum of Natural Science I often go there to decompress.
I would also take them on a tour of downtown when I first moved to Houston I spent most of my time exploring the city either on foot or on a bike and there are so many beautiful art installations throughout downtown that made my explorations more fun and interesting.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
What amazes me about life is how much growing a person does. growing into their gifts, growing into their destiny. I have grown immensely in the past few years and truly developed into the woman that 8 year old me would look up to as a role model. The growth, the opportunities, and the creative flow would not be possible without the support of my parents, the support of my ile Ile Ase Irunmole and my unwavering faith in God and Ifa.
