We had the good fortune of connecting with Sahvanna Loge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sahvanna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been a “people person”, I love everything from meeting new people, to chatting for hours while they sit in my chair.
I wanted to start something that I could build relationships daily, make an impact on peoples lives and make women feel beautiful. -And that’s exactly what I’m doing!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’d like to say what sets me apart from others is that when I’m with my clients, I am 100% authentically myself. In order to build a relationship with each girl that sits in my chair, I’ve found that just being myself is what really makes clients feel comfortable. It puts them in an environment where they can open up, and talk about things they have going on, or just have a safe space when they need it.
Doing good hair is not the only reason why clients keep coming back- yes it’s a major part of the job, but you’re with these girls for hours at a time. Building relationships and trust with these clients is so crucial.
I’m proud to say i’ve built a clientele based off of this idea of being raw and real with my girls, and creating an environment where they can feel heard and important. Every woman deserves that.
Truthfully I got to this point because of my clients. They trusted me and they opened up to me, they allowed me to play a role in their lives and that means the world to me.
It wasn’t easy starting out. When I first started I constantly had feelings of doubt because of my age. I felt like clients would have a hard time trusting me with their hair because of how young I was and so fresh into doing hair. But the truth is, if you let your confidence and passion shine, others will feel that too. You have to believe in yourself first.
What I want people to know about me and my brand, is every woman is powerful, strong and beautiful. I create an environment where my clients can feel all of these things. The sky is NOT the limit, infinity is. Chase your dreams, and be authentically YOU.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Woodlands area is gorgeous, so you really can’t go wrong here. However, if I was taking a friend out to show her around I would have to start off with Tommy Bahamas. The drinks, the food, the vibes- amazing! And then I would HAVE to take her Two Tones piano bar. If you want to have a good time, meet new people, and sing/ laugh the night away, it’s a must.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I seriously have to give a lot of appreciation to my previous mentor, Kelsie – owner of Lifted Salon. She took me in as a commission stylist when I was only 19. I had zero experience in the industry, I had never even assisted and I had just graduated from hair school 2 months prior. From the moment I started working beneath her she guided me, supported me and believed in me. She allowed me to transform my career and take risks. I have to thank her for a lot of my success.
I also owe a big shoutout to my clients, my girls! These girls are my biggest supporters, who have steadily turned into friends and family. Some of them have been with me since I was in cosmetology school, and others have been with me since I first started taking clients at a salon. They’ve been along for this ride, they’ve referred friends and family members to me, they’ve shared my posts and tik toks. So much of my success is because of them. They believed in me, which helped me believe in myself. They truly make my world go round.
