We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Gorashko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samuel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our vision for Galveston Lighthouse Productions was born from a passion for live performance and a desire to bring the arts to spaces where they might not otherwise flourish. What started as a small group of friends with a simple idea—a mustard seed of inspiration—quickly grew into a mission-driven organization dedicated to cultivating the arts in Galveston. Beyond creating meaningful theatrical experiences, we saw an opportunity to give back to a community that has given so much to us. Through each production, we strive to enrich, uplift, and engage, ensuring that the magic of live performance reaches as many people as possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Galveston Lighthouse Productions Inc. is more than just a theater company—it’s a movement dedicated to bringing live performance to unconventional spaces and making the arts accessible to all. We take pride in our ability to transform historic and unique venues into immersive storytelling experiences, ensuring that every production not only entertains but also enriches the community.

One of my proudest moments, and what excites me most, is the fact that we have built a real theater company from the ground up. Starting from grassroots, we are now embarking on such an affluent journey that benefits so many—our performers, crew, audiences, and community partners. The impact we are creating goes beyond the stage, and the fact that my husband and I were able to bring this magnificent organization to life still baffles me. It’s a testament to passion, hard work, and the belief that the arts can truly make a difference.

Getting to where we are today was anything but easy. It took vision, persistence, and an unshakable belief in the power of the arts. We started as a small group of passionate friends determined to make a difference, and through hard work, dedication, and unwavering community support, we’ve grown into a thriving non-profit theater company.

The journey has been filled with challenges—from securing funding and finding venues to navigating the complexities of producing live theater. But each obstacle has taught us invaluable lessons: the importance of adaptability, the power of collaboration, and the impact of staying true to our mission.

What we want the world to know about Galveston Lighthouse Productions is that we are here to make a difference—not just in the arts but in the community we serve. Every production we stage is an opportunity to inspire, educate, and give back. We believe that theater has the power to transform lives, and we are committed to ensuring that live performance continues to shine brightly in Galveston and beyond.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend, Joshua Figueroa, were visiting, we would hit the ground running and make the most of every moment!

No matter the city, the day would be packed with good food, great drinks, amazing performances, and unforgettable memories!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my loving husband Justin Gorashko, because without his love and support none of my successes would be possible. Also, I would like to also recognize our beautiful son Connor Gorashko because everything I do, I do for him and his future successes. The two greatest loves of my life.
