Do what you love and you’ll never work another day in your life.

This for me has been my number one since I started my small cleaning business. I wouldn’t call it work since day one. It didn’t feel like I was going to work. My passion has always been cleaning and organizing. I knew I would be great at it and decided to start my small business. The satisfaction of the after results always made me happy. When I would go into a client home, I would take care of it like if it was my own home. Never felt like I was pressured to wake up every morning to go to work because the feeling of the before and after of a clean home. As well the amazing feeling of my clients telling me thank you, my house looks amazing and smells so clean.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Shine Services by Sandy is definitely different from other cleaning services. Every cleaning company has its ways of making business. Cleaning service is definitely not easy, takes a lots of dedicated hard work. I started off with one client from the next door app and then promoting myself in my neighborhood Facebook page. My clients mostly come from referrals. What sets me different from other cleaning services is that one I believe I’m very detailed, that’s a must for me. I pay attention to every detail. We don’t take short cuts. Second is communication with my clients. Any time of the day I will answer my calls, texts or emails. I stay on top of confirming appointments, making sure the client gives back a feed back if anything is missed out on that day’s cleaning service. We go an extra mile for the client. Lastly, what sets me apart from other cleaning services is that I will always be at the clients home working with my helper. Being there gives me the satisfaction to know things get done and clients don’t like to deal with different staff every cleaning service. I make sure of that because clients trust you as a business owner. The most proud I am with Shine Services is that it took me only three months to hire a helper. I didn’t excepted it to grow so fast in a short time. To getting hire by an investor, realtors and going into commercial in a short period of time. Definitely hasn’t been easy, most challenging for the business was during covid. It was definitely a rewarding experience and challenging one. I had to add new services. One of them was to start to sale based commercial cleaning supplies. Cleaning supplies had become a shortage in stores. To sale cleaning commercial supplies was on the long term things to do for the business. With out thinking about it twice, I made it happen. Had a very good outcome, sold over 100 cleaning supplies. Second service I added was a fogging disinfectant service. I purchased the fogging machine and disinfectant chemicals with out knowing how amazing the outcome was going to be. I did my researched in a few hours and didn’t think about it twice, I knew it would be a positive thing to do for the business. I fogged over 200 homes and businesses. Lessons, I have learned along the way is that the correct client will be consistent with hiring you, paying your prices and if a client lets you go there will always be three more new clients that come in as a blessing. All I want for Shine Services by Sandy to be known is for how well it has taken care of there clients and how serious we take detailed work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Places I would definitely take my best friend will be downtown Houston. That’s where mainly the heart of Houston is at. Will definitely shop local and eat local. Support small business is always a great choice. We will start off with brunch at Cielito Cafe. They have the best Mexican breakfast and drinks. Then head to Railway Heights Market. Shop local markets walk off the food we had for brunch. Lots of unique shops and restaurants. With all that walking we will definitely be down for an afternoon massage with small business owner that has the best massages in Houston. We will book a massage with Samantha with Trapz Therapy. After a relaxing time make it a girl’s night. Head out to Houston Heights to visit local bars for dinner and drinks. If not down for dinner and drinks a ride on scooters at Discovery Green. Make it a stay at the famous Houston Marriott Marquis. Where they have a Texas state shape pool.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Thankful and blessed for all the amazing opportunities that has been given to me. Overall with out Gods amazing blessings I wouldn’t be where I am at. Thankful to God for giving me the strength not to quit and throw the towel. It hasn’t been easy this past 5 years. There has definitely been more good then bad. I wouldn’t be where I am as well if it wasn’t for my family, friends and my amazing clients that some have become family. My husband Fernando and our children have been there to help me when we need that extra help. My past helpers and now helper Anny thankful for her hard work. Will never take for granted, will always appreciate every referral, who shared me on social media, and every review. Thank you because with out you some of this wouldn’t be possible.
