Meet Shaerka McEachern | Christian & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaerka McEachern and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shaerka, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important thing my business has taught me is to just keep on going. Sometimes you won’t see progress right away, but it doesn’t mean it the time to give up either. Rather just keep on trying to know that you are perfecting your craft every day and at the right time when you are ready the Lord will make it happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently a full-time entrepreneur. Leaving my work was a bit scary but I have put my trust and faith in the Lord who is always with me. I have dedicated much time to employers and their needs and all for what?! Nothing ever was that fulfilling for me that I believed I could do it forever. the Lord has given me many gifts, everyone who I encounter makes it a point to let me know that my hands are blessed. It is not easy, sometimes I wish to run out and do what is trendy, but I know that God didn’t create me for that. Even though I have not made nearly enough to break even I have this sense of peace that surrounds me and it more than I have received from any job.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not much of an entertainer so a week of planning around a city is not something I would agree to. Even with my best friend and she knows that. However, I do enjoy the city and what it has to offer. I world be down for breakfast at Harry’s, I love their food. I enjoy the bayou park, I get to walk or run or simple just lay out with a book or people watch. I enjoy the eating scene, and I would have her try some BBQ, at least one or two sushi dates. We’d see a few museums and probably and find go bowling or to the movies. We would definitely do some pictures around the city and have a nice dinner. I’ve gone to many restaurants and though I do not have a favorite just yet, I am great at picking places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I would like to give my highest honor to God, I’d be nothing without Him. He has shown me time and time again that He will make all things beautiful in his time. I want to shutout to my loving and supportive husband Barima for always encouraging me even when I am beating myself up. My little sister Kyshan for all her investments in my craft, I love her so deeply! Lastly, to all the people who have taken the time to support me and encourage me on. I am forever grateful to all of you!
