We had the good fortune of connecting with Shahzad Shahab and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shahzad, why did you pursue a creative career?
From a young age, I found myself drawn to art, design, and technology. Whether it was doodling in the margins of my notebooks or experimenting with basic coding, I felt a sense of fulfillment and joy in bringing my ideas to life visually. This led me to explore various creative mediums, from traditional drawing and painting to digital graphic design and website development.
I believe that art and design have a unique way of connecting people, transcending language barriers, and evoking emotions. Every color choice, every line, and every element in a design carries meaning and purpose. This ability to create something that resonates with others on a deeper level is what truly motivated me to pursue this career path.
In addition, the constantly evolving nature of technology and design keeps me excited and engaged. The digital landscape is always changing, and as a creative professional, I’m constantly challenged to adapt, learn, and innovate. This dynamic environment ensures that I’m always pushing my boundaries, learning new skills, and staying ahead of the curve.
Furthermore, the satisfaction of seeing my work make a positive impact on businesses and individuals is incredibly rewarding. Whether it’s helping a small business establish its brand identity or creating a user-friendly website that enhances someone’s online experience, knowing that my creativity has contributed to someone’s success is immensely fulfilling.
Lastly, pursuing a creative career allows me to blend my personal interests with my professional endeavors. I don’t see my work as just a job; it’s an extension of who I am. This level of authenticity and alignment with my passions fuels my motivation to continuously deliver exceptional results.
In conclusion, the decision to pursue an artistic and creative career was driven by my innate passion for self-expression, the universal language of design, the ever-evolving nature of the field, and the satisfaction of making a positive impact. I believe that when you’re able to turn your passion into your profession, it creates a harmonious balance that leads to both personal fulfillment and professional success.

My artistic journey began as a logo designer with a vision to create visually appealing and memorable brand identities. From the outset, I focused on understanding the essence of each business and translating that into a distinctive logo that conveyed its values and aspirations. This initial step laid the foundation for my exploration into the world of design and development.
Over time, my passion for design led me to delve deeper into various facets of the digital landscape. I expanded my skill set to encompass website development, starting with HTML and CSS languages. This allowed me to not only design captivating websites but also bring them to life through coding. As I gained proficiency in web development, I recognized the potential to offer clients a comprehensive solution that went beyond just logos.
The progression continued as I ventured into WordPress development, crafting dynamic and user-friendly websites that could be easily managed by clients themselves. This transition marked a significant milestone in my career, as I now had the capacity to provide end-to-end solutions for businesses looking to establish a strong online presence.
As I explored further, I dived into eCommerce development, recognizing the growing importance of online retail. Developing custom eCommerce platforms enabled me to create tailored solutions that catered to each client’s unique needs, enhancing their customer experiences and driving growth.
My journey wasn’t without challenges. The digital landscape is constantly evolving, and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends demanded continuous learning and adaptation. Overcoming these challenges required a combination of dedication, perseverance, and an open mindset. I embraced each hurdle as an opportunity to expand my knowledge and refine my skills.
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned valuable lessons. One key takeaway has been the importance of adaptability. Embracing new technologies and techniques has allowed me to stay relevant and continue offering innovative solutions to my clients. Additionally, fostering strong communication skills has been crucial. Understanding the client’s vision, needs, and goals is at the core of creating successful design and development projects.
Today, I’m proud to offer a comprehensive suite of services that range from logo and brand identity design to website development, eCommerce solutions, and digital marketing strategies. This evolution from a logo designer to a one-stop shop for clients is a testament to my commitment to growth and excellence. Being able to guide businesses from their initial brand identity to a fully functional eCommerce platform is not only professionally satisfying but also an immense privilege.
In essence, my story is one of continuous growth, adaptation, and a passion for creating meaningful experiences in the digital realm. I’ve evolved from a logo designer to a versatile creative professional, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead as the digital landscape continues to evolve.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start with a solid breakfast at Hyderabadi Chai and Grill before diving into Space Center Houston for some out-of-this-world exploration. Later, a chill evening at Discovery Green would be the perfect way to wind down.
The next day, we’d get artsy at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, followed by an Indian meal at Agas Restaurant. Then, it’s time to catch some live action at the Theater District or White Oak Music Hall in the evening.
Foodie vibes take over on day three with breakfast at IHOP. Houston Museum of Natural Science and Butterfly Center would offer cool exhibits, and the Food truck plaza at Highway 6 would serve up diverse eats for dinner.
For a change of scenery, we’d take a day trip to Galveston Island – beach time, history, and a visit to Moody Gardens.
Nature calls on day five with a hike in Buffalo Bayou Park. After a picnic lunch at Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo awaits. The Axelrad Beer Garden is the spot to relax with music in the evening.
Day six is shopping at The Galleria, lunch at Musafer for a unique fine-dinning experience, and checking out Midtown’s nightlife for a taste of the local scene.
On the last day, we’d dive into science at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, enjoy steaks at Longhorn Steak House, and end with a relaxing Water Wall stroll to wind up this week long trip.
The week would be all about soaking in the city’s vibe, having fun, and experiencing Houston’s charm in its own laid-back style.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to the Lord because he made me what I am today! then my parents and my wife. Their unwavering support and belief in my abilities have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and pursue my creative aspirations. They’ve encouraged me to embrace my passions and have stood by me every step of the way, providing the emotional foundation that allows me to confidently explore my artistic endeavors.
I also owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to my mentors and teachers at ARENA Multimedia based in Karachi, Pakistan. Throughout my educational journey and professional development, I’ve been fortunate to encounter individuals who generously shared their knowledge, insights, and experiences. Their guidance has not only honed my technical skills but has also provided valuable perspectives that have shaped the way I approach design and creativity.
Additionally, I want to recognize the impact of certain books and resources that have profoundly influenced my creative perspective. “The Design of Everyday Things” by Don Norman, for instance, has deepened my understanding of user-centered design principles and the importance of usability. These resources have been my companions in moments of self-discovery and growth, and I’m grateful for the knowledge they’ve imparted.
Lastly, I’d like to credit the power of curiosity and personal exploration. It’s the internal drive to learn, experiment, and innovate that has fueled my continuous growth. Embracing curiosity has allowed me to approach projects with an open mind, take risks, and discover unique solutions that have contributed to my success.
In essence, my shoutout goes to my God, family, and my mentors at ARENA Multimedia, and the spirit of curiosity that have all played a crucial role in shaping my artistic and creative journey. Their collective support, guidance, and inspiration have been the driving force behind my achievements, and I am truly grateful for their contributions.
