We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharonna Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharonna, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Early intervention is a must in our community for youth development. Youth development is a process by which all children seek ways to meet their basic physical and social needs and build strength and self direction to Guide their own safe and healthy transition into adulthood. Children and youth are provided with support to accomplish these goals. Children with autism don’t have the same support and opportunities. Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs a child’s ability to communicate and interact with others. They cannot be cured however with this correct services and resources The possibilities of children living on the Spectrum has to live in an inclusive world amongst their peers will be higher. So I started Mobile Therapeutic play center to fill the void needed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Having twin non verbal children with autism has show me where the greatest need is for children on the spectrum. My new normalcy has taught me that there’s so much more to life and I’m stronger than I ever knew I was I feel more prepared for the challenges to come as my boys get older. It was not easy when I started to fight for services for children with autism after getting told NO so many times I only had two options either to create the change that I’m seeking or move to another state that may have the resources that my children need. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to all the parents and caregivers that have children with autism, that are doing the best they can without many services and resources. Especially now living in a pandemic it’s really hard. Fighting for support
