We had the good fortune of connecting with Shavee Ho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shavee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was never just about making money—it was about creating impact. I wanted to build something that empowered women, gave them confidence, and provided practical solutions for their success. My journey began as a licensed cosmetologist and evolved into image consulting, marketing strategy, and entrepreneurship. I saw gaps in the industry where women lacked resources, support, and access to business acceleration. That’s why I launched Alpha Woman Association, a business accelerator nonprofit, and S.H.E. Beauty Defined, a beauty brand for women on the go. My thought process was simple: How can I help women show up as their best selves, both in business and in life?

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My journey in business has been anything but easy—but it’s been incredibly purpose-filled. I’m the founder of Alpha Woman Association, a business accelerator nonprofit that provides women entrepreneurs with access to funding, education, and corporate partnerships to help them grow and scale their businesses. I also own S.H.E. Beauty Defined, a beauty brand designed for women on the go, offering time-saving products that help women look and feel confident without sacrificing efficiency.

What sets me apart is my ability to merge image, strategy, and impact. I don’t just help women build businesses—I help them build brands that speak with clarity, confidence, and power. Whether I’m creating a marketing campaign, leading a workshop, or styling a professional woman for the next stage of her life, everything I do is rooted in transformation—from the inside out.

I got to where I am today through a lot of trial, error, and faith. I’ve started and stopped multiple ventures, learned hard lessons, and had to face every bit of self-doubt and imposter syndrome that came with choosing to be a leader. It wasn’t always glamorous, and there were seasons I wanted to quit. But my vision—helping women rise, build, and walk in their calling—kept pulling me forward.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to stay rooted in purpose, not pressure. The world will always have opinions about what success should look like, but when you’re aligned with your calling, your lane will make room for you.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is this: I’m here for the woman who knows she’s called to more but just needs a push, a plan, and a little bit of polish. My story is one of evolution, resilience, and obedience—and everything I create is designed to help other women experience the same.

If you see me now, just know it didn’t happen overnight. I’m still becoming. And that’s the beauty of it all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

When friends come to visit me in Houston, I love to give them a mix of culture, creativity, and elevated fun. I’m all about beautiful scenery, good food, live music, and experiences that feel intentional and memorable.

We’d definitely hit a few restaurants with a view like Shanté or Juliet , followed by a rooftop lounge or speakeasy for live music and vibes. I love places where the energy is grown and sexy but still chill.

For something hands-on, I always suggest activities like candle or perfume making at Love & Make, pottery, or a cooking class—I enjoy experiences that let you be creative and connected.

Of course, we’re stopping by a spa with a great pool (Trellis is my go-to), shopping local boutiques, and checking out the Museum District or a performance in the Theater District. I’m a sucker for the arts, and I love dressing up for a night out, especially when it involves fashion shows or the performing arts.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Success is never a solo journey, and I owe so much to the people who have shaped, supported, and inspired me along the way.

First and foremost, my husbandof nine years, Mr. Hô —his unwavering belief in me has been my rock. He has supported my dreams, stood by me through every pivot, and encouraged me to take risks, knowing that I was built for more. His love and patience have allowed me the space to grow into the woman and entrepreneur I am today.

Then, there’s my Gen Alpha son, Syre Hô, who lives unapologetically and reminds me daily what it means to show up in the world with confidence and authenticity. Watching him navigate life with curiosity and boldness inspires me to do the same.

My parents, Charles and Lolita Brown who instilled in me the values of resilience, hard work, and faith. Their sacrifices paved the way for me to dream without limits, and for that, I’m forever grateful.

And finally, my late grandmother Gammie—my favorite person and a fellow Sagittarius. She was a force of nature, full of wisdom, fire, and grace. She taught me to walk with boldness, trust my instincts, and keep God at the center of everything I do. Her strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith have shaped the way I navigate life, and her spirit continues to guide me.

To all of them—thank you for being part of my journey. Your love, guidance, and belief in me have made all the difference.
