We had the good fortune of connecting with Shocko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shocko, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Honestly wouldn’t be exactly where I’m at in my career if I didn’t take any leaps of faith, or risks. These open doors, that leads to more bigger doors, so never be afraid to walk around, discuss with people what you do and simply from that you never know where the conversation can go or do for you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started photography simply by watching YouTube came across some motivation photography type videos and just dived right into it. My brother invested in my first Sony camera which took my portraits to another level and I started simply shooting for free at times, and shooting as much as possible to better my craft. I always networked, always talked when needed, and when it was time to be a fly on the wall I played the role to a T. Never be afraid to ask questions, seek advice, even at the point of my career right now there’s always room for improvement trust me. I want to leave my mark on the world simply as a leader, a positive individual, caring, and ambitious man. I just want to make not only myself proud but my family, my mom, my dad, my siblings, and be an inspiration to those where I’m from. This for you Port Arthur, Texas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost shoutout to God, and his word, I don’t know where I’d be and my family as well. Secondly huge shoutout to my older brother who invested into me and who believed in me as well. Shoutout to Trill Art for inspiring me as well, Getty Images Chief Photographer Mike Coppola, Videographer Theo Skudra, and just shoutout to all my companions and supporters, I love you all.
