We had the good fortune of connecting with Sindhura Palavali and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sindhura, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My Journey as a Esthetician began 4 years ago with the intention to help people feel confident and love the skin they are in. In the process I realized I needed to have my own place to do things my way and came the idea of starting Ritzy. With global pandemic it wasn’t a easy ride either, but knowing that I am building my own dreams & pursuing my passion makes me thrive to do more & better.
What should our readers know about your business?
Since my childhood I have always felt drawn towards the beauty & fashion industry . But where i grew up and went college , esthetics was not a professional career choice at the time. Engineering or Doctor are the professions, every parent dreamt about their children to be. I have been enrolled into computer engineering and after completing my 4 year degree I came to USA with my husband.
Being an immigrant had to wait few years to get my work authorization to work in USA and I was going thru debate in my mind to whether pursue my engineering career or not, as i never felt drawn or put my heart in that field. Then it occured to me, I should choose a career I am passionate about and stand out rather than trying to fit in something.
I got my work authorization after moving to austin and then started my hunt to find a school to pursue my passion, that’s when I landed at AVEDA.
I thoroughly enjoyed my esthetician program ,regardless of those long school hours and being a new mom. it was hard for me , with managing infant and being at school from 8am-8pm . but at end it was all worth it ! As soon as graduated & had my state license I had job in my hand, but never felt complete at it . That’s how i came up with the thought of going on my own.
I opened doors to Ritzy during pandemic with no business experience ,but with belief in myself & my work. 1 year later i would say i’m proud of myself for where am I. The stress, the work hours, the hard work , the fears are all worth it . Being a small business owner is having a 24/7 job . But everyday when i go to work i feel great , excited to see and help my clients reach their skin care goals.
I am forever grateful & thankful for each of my clients, family and community for supporting my business.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband , he has been such a great support. From joining Esthetics school to making my own way in business , he has been a backbone of Ritzy . without him i wouldn’t be able to do this.
