We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophia Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophia, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Patience and consistency .When I started my candle business I just knew that they were gonna sell out I just had a feeling every one does just starting out and when they didn’t I learned that growing a business takes time and the key ingredient to it all is patience and consistency.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The world is constantly changing new things are coming nothing stays the same like us.What sets us apart from others are our scents.I can promise you that you won’t find anything like ours.It wasn’t an easy journey but with time things got better for me, learning what works and what didn’t was the hardest part of it all 10 months later I’m still here still constantly changing the scents adding new collections every month!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I just moved to the Dallas area so I’m figuring things out for myself.Luckily for me my bestfriend has been living here for a year and our ideal fun day would be thrifting,taking the kids out to eat,or just staying home!I’ve never been someone to go out unless it’s to a zoo or kid related.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without my fiancé,family, and friends seauxncocandles would be nothing!I can’t thank my friends enough for helping me constantly change the design or helping me pick out the scents mostly (MICHELLE).My family for continuing rooting me on even when it’s a bad day my kids will say “it smells good mommy”, but they’ll tell me when it stinks too perks of kids they’re honest!Lastly my wonder fiancé for helping me start this adventure it’s almost been a year since I started and along the way I have learned so much.
