We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Parsons and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacy, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is making myself available to my customers. I connect to them on a personal level. When doing my social media live videos, I laugh, I mess up what I’m saying, I give my honest opinions and I honestly believe people feel as if they can relate. The success of my brand is attention to detail. Staying up to date with trends and popular styles.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Lary’s Designs is such a unique business. We started as a florist, then naturally we did wedding and events. The creative mind of design never ends. Interior Design became a huge part of our next level of growth. We incorporated so many beautiful things into the store. Furniture, lighting, rugs, pillows, fabrics, home decor and more. We have a new baby section with Posh Peanut and more. Bringing in Annie Sloan Chalk Paints was an amazing surprise to us all. We had no idea how popular this paint is. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is always follow your gut. My gut has never failed me. The success of Lary’s was not an easy road. Buying a business that had an amazing reputation and being owned by a very well known florist was scary and i was so worried Lary’s would never come out of the shadows with my name being the face of it and being mine. After many years and also building a new gorgeous building, Lary’s is truly now mine. People know I’m the owner and have established a style of familiarity of my own amongst our community. I want the world to know that Lary’s has been around for 58+ years and I promise it will be around for a very long time. I’ve worked very hard to create a brand that covers so many aspects of design…floral, interior, events and weddings.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh wow, This is hard! Living in Friendswood, I’m so close to Houston, Clear Lake and Galveston! Let me think…definitely check out some of our awesome restaurants. In Friendswood, Brasserie 1895…great burgers. Pearland- Killeen’s Steakhouse. Galveston- Rudy & Paco’s and The Spot. Visit Pleasure Pier. In Houston, I would have to share the beautiful Post Oak Hotel and spa. I absolutely love this hotel!! Do some fun shopping at the Galleria and Rice Village. I could go on and on. We live in such an amazing place and have so many things to do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely could not do any of this without my amazing staff!! Jackie and Katie are my left and right hands!! My floral designers, Maria and Dawn….they are so unbelievable and they take care of our customers needs. My front sales people, these girls have to work so hard and be able to multi task. Ashley, Eleanor and Laura know our customers. They make sure they are taken care of and leave our store with a smile. My delivery drivers….Ray and Jeremy and my part time driver Debbie. They work so hard. They deal with traffic and timed deliveries….and they always get to see the recipients face to face and watching them get so excited about receiving a beautiful floral arrangement. We are a team and it takes every single one of them to make Lary’s a success.
