Meet Allison Parsley | Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Parsley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, how do you think about risk?
Personally, I am a steadfast believer in the old saying, “despite all of the shit; fruits grow best from the meuniere!” The purpose of life is to build something out of nothing. You cannot get to that point of nothingness without the first step : taking a risk.
Think about it! All of the highlights in a person’s life – travel, careers, relationships, love – all stem from that one little, tiny moment of utter venerability. Opening yourself up to the shot at building something no one has ever done before. This raw moment is what we live for. Why would you ever forebode yourself that moment of greatness?
Some people simply don’t trust themselves enough. And I wish for all of us, that they would.
A huge part of my success has come from making myself completely vulnerable to the unknowns that may lie ahead. I made a massive career jump away from the hospitality industry into real estate with only double digits in my checking account. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. All felt was an intrinsic push to belay myself off this mountain onto a bigger one.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The thing about real estate is that it’s kind of a sexy gig. The general public doesn’t understand the grind, the hustle, the sweat and the tears. I think a lot of that is thanks to social media. Agents out there posting with their rental Lambos, or their Gucci bags, only to be returned after the photoshoot. (No shame. Do what you gotta do to earn traction or whatever.)
What sets me apart from other agents is simple. I actually care about my clients! A vast majority of my business comes from word of mouth. The clients I am partnered with will get the best home shopping experience possible. Not just another sale to add to my preforma log. Seriously, I actually give a damn about them and where they will be calling home. This isn’t just another sale for me – it’s a relationship. It’s someone’s future. Everyone deserves to have a roof over their head at the end of the night. No matter what.
People won’t always remember what you said, what car you drove to the showing but you know what they will remember? They will remember how you made them feel.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man best question ever! How much time do we have?!
Well for sure they would be staying at Hotel Zaza in the Museum District. So first things first- a quick morning walk around Hermann Park and the Japanese tranquility garden. Then we would probably venture to brunch at Abouzy. Pop into the Museum of Fine Arts. (They have a great impressionist exhibition going right now for the VanGogh fans.) Hopefully catch some rays by the pool. Then swing by El Tiempo for a rita and tacos! Can’t come to Houston without it!
Final destination would be Minute Maid Park to catch our World Champions live at home! Friday night fireworks encouraged!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh gosh my Shoutout would have to go to the epic leadership of smart city’s CEO, Cassie Brown! I owe all of my training and self taught management to this organization. She is incredibly successfully, insanely driven, natural leader, and most importantly – female entrepreneur! Dude the list seriously goes on an on! She started the business back in our college days when apartment locating was just a blip on an “every day” realtor’s radar. Like seriously, no one know knew what it was. But she saw the demand and the need and leaned into full force. Some 10 years later, she has one of the largest locating groups established in every major market of Texas! Well done. Oh by the way, I should probably mention they are also running operations now in Chicago, Florida, and Georgia just to name a few. 🙂
