We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzan Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suzan, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
What makes me happy is being able to pay it forward by helping others that have faced adversity and helping them turning it into their advantages.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is my own personal experiences after the loss of my dominant arm. I have taken all the pain I’ve endured, every lesson I’ve learned to help others recognize, confront and embrace their pain in order to move forward and heal and to #bebetter. Also, being an empath. I naturally love helping people and I am able to meet people where they are -emotionally. I am extremely excited about a new course that I am launching ‘Overcoming Adversity’. You can check it out at bebetterlife.academy My business partner, Patrick Hubbard and I have put our heart and soul into this project for over a year and it is curated from my personal experiences. It is professionally written, filmed and the content is beyond powerful. I am confident it will change lives and potentially save lives. It has been one heck of a journey and very difficult at times. To be completely transparent I experienced moments of self doubt but I needed to remind myself that I didn’t come this far just to come this far. It has not been an easy journey but the support from my loved ones and fans have definitely kept me going. They continue to remind me of the impact I am making to those who need it most. I want others to know that we are in control of our life, although adversity is inevitable, with the right amount of self love, dedication and effort we are able to redefine ourselves to become a better version of ourselves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them?
I would kick off the morning with some outdoor fun at Buffalo Bayou park, enjoying nature and taking in the beautiful Houston skyline. After that I would take her/him to a foot massage in Chinatown then enjoy some authentic Asian food in the area. We would do some shopping, enjoy some quality time catching up and end the night with a delicious dinner as my husband is a wonderful chef and karaoke at night at home.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been completely blessed with many incredible people showing unconditional love and support during this journey. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart first to my husband, family and best friends for always being in my corner and continuing to believe in me.
