We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sydney, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
As an AcroDance coach, the most important factor behind my success is my dedication to providing a supportive and motivating environment for all students. I focus on individualized training plans, emphasizing proper technique, and encouraging strong mental health, I’ve been able to help my students achieve their full potential and goals while also reducing the risk of injuries. This helps not only improve their skills but also builds their confidence and passion.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey began with growing up in gymnastics, then high school dance team, and then a member of the acrobatic and tumbling team at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. At UMHB I earned a Bachelors of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology, which shaped my understanding of movement, performance, and the intricate relationship between body and mind. My education and experiences has helped shape my creative content and focus on dancers and their unique challenges.

I feel what truly sets me apart is the information I provide on my Instagram page. My goal is to share unique nutrition ideas and strength training tips specifically tailored for dancers. My mission is to inspire dancers to nourish their bodies effectively and equip them with the knowledge needed to perform at their highest potential.

Although my path has not always been easy, I take great pride in the person I have become. Throughout my experiences, I have learned the importance of giving 150% in everything I do, and with dedication and hard work, your goals are achievable. I am committed to empowering dancers through strength and skill development, while also promoting body positivity and mental strength.

I want to inspire others to embrace their journeys, overcome obstacles, and realize their full potential. My story is driven by this belief, and I hope to create a supportive community that uplifts and empowers dancers everywhere.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston and its surrounding areas have a lot of fun things to offer. I crave Mexican food at least once a week, and some of my favorites are Gringos and Chuys. I’d also take my bestie to Rice Box, Original ChopShop, or Fiiz Drinks. We might visit the Houston Zoo, Topgolf, or go shopping at the Woodlands Mall. If we are feeling adventurous we might go to Drag Brunch at Boheme or Wonder Bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hayli Howard, an Acrobatic Arts certified Acro instructor and the owner of AcroDance With Hayli. I have been training and working under Hayli, and I am incredibly grateful for all she has done for me as both a mentor and a friend. The mission of ADWH is to create a safe and energetic environment that fosters confidence and motivation while blending the artistry of dance with the athleticism of acrobatics. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without the opportunities that Hayli has provided.
