We had the good fortune of connecting with Taqwanna Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taqwanna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting Credit Lift Inc was to use my skills to be of service to the community by aiding them in what I believe was absent in our education system, financial literacy. We were not taught about how to create a budget or the importance of good credit. Unfortunately, most of us learned that lesson through getting denied for an automobile or mortgage loan. I started my business to be in control of my own destiny and help change some lives for the better along the way. I had experienced working tirelessly to help maintain someone else’s business and being shown that my efforts weren’t being truly appreciated. In retrospect, I am truly grateful for that experience because it helped me pivot to where I am today which is where I am appreciated, where I belong, and where I want to be.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Credit Lift Inc, is a top rated credit restoration company that services Texas residents. What sets us apart from other credit repair companies is that we offer face-to-face consultations and onboarding appointments in the Houston and surrounding areas. We also follow the old adage to treat people how we want to be treated. Credit Lift Inc started with the consumer in mind. We listen to our clients. We care about our clients. We want our clients to succeed in their goals and objectives. Our mission is to serve, educate, and motivate. If they leave us in a better position than when they came, we did our job. Getting started in this industry was a process but over time seeing the huge impact our services have had on the lives of clients to get them in position to purchase a home, a vehicle, and/or build business credit is as rewarding as any career could ever be. What I learned along the way is that we determine the value of our time. I would like the world to know that Credit Lift Inc is eager to be of service to anyone who is willing to invest in themselves and their goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the City of Houston are very common everyday places. To get a morning jog in, I would recommend MacGregor Park. A nice spot to get a good meal and some good drinks is Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe. For brunch, most definitely Grace’s on Kirby on the weekends. For nightlife, O2 Lounge has a nice ambiance. A great place to take the family would be Discovery Green.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to Thank GOD for what He has done, is doing, and will do for my journey in life. If He doesn’t do another thing, He’s done enough. I am truly grateful for the doors He has opened and the amazing people I have had the pleasure of meeting along the way.
