We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana Boone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatiana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is believing in yourself and what your capable of. There were times when I would be down to my last and I had to tell myself, Do you not trust in abilities? What makes you think you aren’t going to make your money back? Or going to places you have never been hoping someone will be interested in buying your product.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve wanted to quit sooooo many times it’s ridiculous. I may have not been getting as many sales as I wanted or just didn’t have the urge to bake anymore. until I started making banana pudding! That was one of the best decisions I could’ve made. for 6 weeks straight cupcakes didn’t even exist. I thought to myself why hadn’t I thought of this sooner. Everything happens for a reason and I’m glad for the ups and downs of my business. It has truly help me grow and turned me in the right direction of where to head next.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I don’t really go out like I used to so I’m not too sure whats hot at the moment. There are a few places I would like to check out that I’ve added to my list of places to try. Bloom and bee, Graces which I have been a few times! they have a nice small elegant room you can ask to be placed in. Brennan’s Houston has $25 wine tasting for the wine lovers, Jupiter’s Pizza and Waffles is a must try I definitely recommend the “ricky bobby” if you enjoy sweet and spicy. proper rose garden would be both of our first time going. The travelers table just sounds interesting so I would love to bring my friend there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my mom, sister,boyfriend and friends for believing in me, buying treats from me, posting my work without having to ask. It really means a lot to me and they’ll never understand how appreciative I am. I love my sister for always giving me constructive criticism without hurting my feelings. Or how my boyfriend makes sure I have everything I need to show me he believes in me. Jessica for always bragging abut my business as if it were her won. And lastly my mom for helping me with the stuff I least enjoy about the business and making sure I keep up with inventory. Everyone has been just all around my biggest motivators and they keep me going.
