We had the good fortune of connecting with Teddy Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teddy, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by everything around me, being a photographer and a creative, even the small things can spark my interest. Growing up I was always inspired by movie directors and their stories, like a photographer in a way they’re trying to tell a story. So I don’t look at photography as only taking pictures, it’s the art of story telling. I would definitely say that movies play a huge part of inspiration in my creativeness. Although not many are given their flowers while they can still smell them, but I’m also inspired by other artist and photographers. I’m inspired by the culture!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Building a photography business is easy, so I thought. I’ve been doing photography for almost 7 years, but as soon as I got my LLC, it was like dealing with a totally different business. The biggest fork in the road is trying to separate business and pleasure, meaning the things I like to shoot will not always pay. I recently split my photography work into two pages, one showing more of my artistic vision and another showing more of my softer side, like family and baby photos. Teddy Loves Visuals is near and dear to my heart, I believe in achieving ultimate satisfactory and giving my clients the best of the best.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I can definitely give you a small itinerary, but not too many gems. I would probably start off with something to eat like Katz’s Deli (one of my favorite places) not only the food but the deserts, Chef’s kiss! And since I’m a photographer you know I’ll have my camera, so the museum district is where I’m headed. Midtown thrifts and coffee joints are always a move for an evening stroll. Night-life is completely different but in a good way, the dive bars are more of my speed (boondocks for dancing and Rabbit’s got the Gun for more aesthetics)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well first and foremost, all glory goes to God, because without him, I wouldn’t be here telling you this. I would love to give a shoutout to my loving family for always giving me support and kind of putting a foot in my behind when I needed it. Also give a shoutout to my friends and others that see my hard work and talent, for always giving me that one piece of advice that keeps me pushing for greatness. And last but certainly not least are the ones that said I couldn’t make it, all of you are that extra bit of gas in my tank to continue to push forward.
