We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Karnopp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiana, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind success, in general, is being confident in one’s own abilities, setting goals and reaching them, and having courage to step out of your comfort zone to feel fear and to do it anyways, in business and in life.
I wouldn’t say I’m successful by any-means materialistically;
however, I think a different question could be, what defines success?
The answer for everyone is different and thats the beauty in a lot of things.
For me, success is a feeling I get when I am able to help people, whether that means emotionally, physically, naturally through herbalism, spiritually, mentally- any way I can connect with a person, and be of service to them in some way. I could blame it on my Filipino roots as my culture is very big on hospitality, but also I’m a cancer so taking care of others just makes me feel good. Success is knowing I helped someone through something in my own special Tiana way, and I think that’s an important factor behind my success.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I consider myself a Jill of most trades, meaning I have dipped my experimental toe in a bunch of different things: Modeling, Real Estate, Fashion, Website Building, Social Media, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Pageantry, Twitch Streaming, Influencing, Art, Content Creating, Sales, Legal work, Retail, Tele-Communications, CBD Specialist, Coffee/tea barista, Serving, Babysitting, Non-profit fundraising…
I might be forgetting some, but I think what sets me apart from others is my well roundedness, and wide array of experience.
I am not afraid to try new things, if anything, I embrace change and welcome challenges because I want to always grow and learn, and the best teacher is life- and life is like one big test with different ways to get the same answer.
Everything I do, I bring what I’ve learned over all of my experiences, and do my best to make the best decisions for myself but also following my heart.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a big art and photography kind of gal, so we would definitely go sight seeing around the city, and paint pottery. I love thrifting and fashion, so we would go to some of the vintage shops on Melrose.
I’m not much of a drinker, but I do like to dance, listen to music, and have fun- Houston has some pretty cool aesthetic bars to take pictures in and to enjoy the atmosphere.
I would want to go rollerskating at the beach or outside somewhere.
I went to school in San Marcos, so we could go on a day trip to Austin and swim in the river/ lakes, they have beautiful fresh water areas.
I also like reading and being in bookstores, so we could get lost in between the cases.
I like movies and being in comfy clothes, so if we throw in a few movie/ tv show nights with snacks and face masks in there, you’d have my version of the best time ever. As for food, I’m pretty adventurous and like all kinds of food, so it would depend on their mood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I, of course, want to shout out my family for always being there to support me, to my old friends Mark, Wayman, and Justin who encouraged me to start my business in the first place.
