We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Lindsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
My name is Tiffany Lindsey and I am from Houston, Texas. I’ve been working children in various capacities for over a decade. I have worked at preschools, public and charter schools, along with being an ABA Therapist, working with children that have Autism. I love working with children and I’ve been on a mission to help any child I work with or come in contact with.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hand to Heart Coaching is a business that offers one to one individualized and intentional Coaching sessions for children and adolescents. We work with children ages 5 to 14 years of age. Our mission is to work alongside children and their families to get them the help they need. Whether a child has low self-esteem, anxiety, or depression, we are to help as much as we can.
I was inspired to start this business because of my students, especially the last students I had recently. As Educators we wear so many hats. One hat I found myself wearing often was a listener. My students and even students that weren’t in my class would just open up and talk to me.
It didn’t matter what it was and often times I just listened. Children and adolescents have so many things going on and at times it can be a lot. When it becomes a lot you either let it out or keep it in. I would always rather anyone, adult or child to let things out and not keep them in because it could hurt you in more ways than one.
Since then, I’ve learned how important it is to build positive relationships and connections with children and adolescents. I wanted to offer a safe space where they can share and get help, however I can help them and their family.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of the most fun and interesting places to go to would be restaurants that are specifically in Houston and attractions. The Breakfast Klub and Cool Runnings are only two of many places I would recommend. The Houston Zoo, Downtown Aquarium and Museums here are always a go to and is something the entire family can enjoy together.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout everyone who has ever been supportive of me! I have been inspired by these individuals and from the books that I have read.
